Frequently Asked Questions:
What do you charge?
I offer a 30 minute phone call or video conference for £15 to help us decide if we want to work together and thereafter I charge £40 for a 50 minute session. Payment is made in advance by bank transfer. I can only refund cancellations if they are made with more than 48 hour's notice.
Where are you based?
I work from an attractive and comfortable counselling space on the outskirts of Ringmer, East Sussex, UK, in a residential setting. My counselling space is self-contained with a private entrance and has blinds for extra privacy.
Is it confidential?
Everything said in my sessions is completely confidential, and any notes taken are anonymised and password protected. The only exception to this would be if I felt there was a safeguarding issue, i.e. there was risk of serious harm to either yourself or another. I would then have an open and frank discussion with you before breaking confidentiality, to make sure you were properly protected and supported.
I am registered with the ICO and abide by their standards.
Can I see you virtually?
Yes. I offer sessions over the telephone and on video conference and face to face.
Do you have disabled access?
Unfortunately my counselling space is not suitable for disabled access, but I am happy to talk to you over the phone or by video conference.
How do I pronounce your name?
It's pronounced "Loo-see-ah"!
When do you work?
I work most weekdays. When I take holidays I will let you know these dates well in advance.
How long can I work with you?
Sometimes people need a short intervention to get back on track, and at other times we need many sessions to slowly unpack underlying issues. There is no set minimum or maximum for how long you work with me; this is something we will talk about in our introductory session.
What are your qualifications and experience?
I have a Diploma in Integrated Counselling from Wealden Institute, and am a member of the BACP. I have also worked as a counsellor for Lewes Low Cost Counselling, Care for the Carers, and therapeutically for Southdown.
I have over 20 years experience of working in education.
